Jagex, the developer and publisher of the Old School RuneScape franchise, have reported that its registered players have reached a record number in 2019
a fitting achievement as the franchise is about to celebrate its 20th
anniversary. The game was initially released for PC back in 2013, and later became available for Android and iOS devices in 2018.

In 2019, Jagex announced that RuneScape and Old School RuneScape had a record number of 1.1 million paying subscribers.
Although both games provide free-to-access content, they each offer a paid subscription service as well.
In its first year of release on mobile and PC, the game experienced an immense surge in daily active users, resulting in its highest ever number of players since its launch in 2013.

Phil Mansell, CEO of Jagex, spoke about the player numbers for Old School RuneScape.
He stated that 2019 was a record-breaking year for Jagex and its RuneScape communities, putting them on track for their most successful year yet.
Additionally, Mansell stated that Old School RuneScape welcomed more members and players than ever before in its 19-year history.
In 2019, the RuneScape franchise achieved a wide array of accomplishments. Not only did it generate over £261,000 for charitable organizations
also streamed a record-breaking 11.3 million minutes of content from RuneFest, its fan convention, on Twitch.
Jagex couldn't be more thrilled about the record-breaking player numbers just before the second Trailblazer League is set to launch on January 6th 2021.
